REFUND POLICY
MMLA uses an online payment system (Sportz Soft) as per OLA and Zone 10 initiatives. MMLA does not own or administer the payment or registration portal. As payment is now required upon registration, we acknowledge that some players who do not make Rep teams will require a refund. In addition to Rep fees, we also recognize that some players or parents would like to request a refund for a house league registration fee (rep excluded).
All refund requests must be made in writing or emailed to the Registrar by the individual who paid the fees. Any applicable refunds will be processed either by cheque or returned via credit card at the discretion of the MMLA. Please allow 2-4 weeks for refunds to be processed.
REFUNDS
Upon registration, certain fees are automatically deducted by third parties, including the Ontario Lacrosse Association insurance and governing body fees, registration system, and credit card processing. These fees are not recoverable by the MMLA and as a result, all requests for refunds shall be subject to a non-refundable $35 administration fee.
No refunds for voluntary withdrawals after the start of the program.
An additional fee for any incurred uniform costs shall be withheld.
All equipment belonging to the MMLA must be returned before the refund will be processed.
Any player that is placed on a rep team shall be responsible for their portion of the full assessed amount of the rep team programming cost.
No refunds will be provided if a player is suspended or expelled under the OMLA, OLA, OMFLL, or OWFL discipline policy or code of conduct rules.
If a player must withdraw for medical reasons after the start of programming, a doctor's note is required to support the medical reason. The non-refundable fee, incurred uniform costs, and a prorated amount for any sessions attended shall be withheld.
MMLA Release Process
Anyone who resides in Milton, and wishes to play lacrosse, must play for the Milton Mavericks. Players who wish to play elsewhere, must obtain a release from the Milton Minor Lacrosse Association.
To apply for a release, you must:
Ensure yourself, or the player, is currently registered with the MMLA for the current season.
Download and fully complete the release form(s).
Email the completed documents to the MMLA President.
After sending in the completed documentation, you will receive a standard reply from the president, confirmation your release has been received.
A hearing will be scheduled to discuss your release request, and a fee of $30 will be levied. Release hearing fees are not waived under any circumstances. If the release is approved, the player is free to register to the next closest centre. If the release is denied, the player can appeal the decision to the Zone committee.
In the event that the association cannot offer a rep team in a specific division after tryouts are held, only players already registered for the current season with the association will be granted a temporary release to play elsewhere. Anyone not registered demonstrates no intent to play and permission to play for another centre will not be granted.
